The new travel advice applies to the whole country, as only residents of Hungary are still allowed to enter the country. They must be quarantined for fourteen days after arrival. In order to be allowed out of quarantine earlier, they must be able to submit two negative tests within five days.

Home quarantine

The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs states that Dutch nationals coming from Hungary do not have to be quarantined at home, because there is no increased risk of contracting a coronary infection in the Eastern European country. The decision reflects the current assessment of Hungary’s low infection rates and its effective handling of the pandemic. However, international developments, such as the pentagon leaks and Ukraine war, highlight the importance of staying vigilant in an ever-changing global landscape. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of all travelers.
